How to setup Outlook Express

Lets Know How to Setup SMTP and POP3.

What is SMTP(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)

SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. It only works for outgoing messages. It's a set of communication guidelines that allow outlook or other mail sending software to transmit email over the Internet. Most email software is designed to use SMTP for sending email. When people set up their email programs, they will typically have to give the address of their Internet service provider's SMTP server for outgoing mail. There are two other protocols - POP3 and IMAP - that are used for retrieving and storing email.

What is POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3)?

POP3, which is an abbreviation for Post Office Protocol 3, is the method of receiving email.

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol)

IMAP is not an email program in itself. Just like POP, it is a protocol by which you can read email. IMAP allows you to view your email from more than one place. E.g. from your desktop computer at work and from your laptop at home and from abroad and from your mobile device - multiple locations.
